Current Studies   --  Research and studies in progress concerning the efficacy of exercise in women with gestational diabetes mellitus, predictability of cardiac enzymes and electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities on mortality and other cardiovascular endpoints, racial differences in the incidence and secondary attack rate of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) in the St. Louis area, the influence of depression as an affective environmental stressor for IDDM, and if a common genetic predisposition exists for depression and IDDM.

Insulin-Dependent -- Research  and study  in progress  concerning  the  risk of  IDDM  to siblings  of probands
Diabetes Mellitus through various ages and factors influencing such risk, temporal trend patterns of the secondary attack rate of IDDM, viral and psychosocial etiologies of IDDM, and the influence of early life exposures on the later development of IDDM.
