Section of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, (MIGS)

MIGS

We have a commitment to our patients to achieve superior surgical outcomes through less invasive techniques. Through traditional hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, robotic surgery and single incision techniques, we can treat disease and decrease patient recovery time. These techniques have been proven to require a shorter hospitalization, require less pain medications, induce fewer adhesions, and decrease time to full recovery.

Patient Story One
Dr. Schwartz

Like many people, I feared the pain of invasive surgery and possible complications from surgery, so I suffered with very heavy menstrual bleeding that caused me to miss work at least 1-2 days a month and affected other areas of my life.

When I met Dr. Schwartz, my blood count was 5.9 and I had a very large fibroid tumor that was 20 cm. Dr. Schwartz explained all of the options to me and advised that because the tumor was so large I might have to have a more invasive surgical procedure(abdominal hysterectomy), but that she would try to do it laparoscopically. I made an informed decision to have surgery.

My laparoscopic hysterectomy was performed in under 4 hours with minimal blood loss and no complications. I had minimal pain and I went home the next day.

I feel very fortunate that my surgeon, Dr. Schwartz is both a caring person and skilled surgeon. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

Patient Story Two

Despite a previous laparoscopy then open laporatomy to treat my endometriosis, I was still in pain and did not want open surgery again. I elected to go to a minimally invasive gyn surgeon to hopefully accomplish this and relieve my pain.

I am grateful for the comprehensive collaborative, thoughtful care with my surgery. My recovery as compared to previous open surgery was by far the easiest. I required less pain medication , no complications, and was more ambulatory more quickly than anticipated.

My surgeon, Dr. Schwartz for years, successfully manages a broad spectrum of difficult cases, handled my case with ease. My worries and concerns dissipated as Dr.Schwartz and her close-knit team promptly responded to any concerns and issues. It is over a year later, I am painfree, and grateful.
