Accelerated Programs at SLU School of Nursing

For students with a bachelor’s degree in another field who are ready to pursue a nursing career, Saint Louis University School of Nursing’s accelerated programs offer a clear path forward without having to start over.
With SLU’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing or direct-entry Accelerated Master of Science in Nursing programs, you can build on your experience and learn at a faster pace, supported by a nursing school ranked No. 21 in the country by Niche, as well as experienced faculty and state-of-the-art resources.
Accelerated B.S.N. Program
- Designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in another area of study
- Prepares graduates to pursue in-demand nursing jobs
- Created in 1971, SLU’s A.B.S.N. program was the first program of its kind in the United States.
- An intensive three-semester, 12-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing program
- Students with at least 77 credits may be eligible for a junior-entry option.
- Classes meet in person, with hands-on opportunities and a low student-to-faculty ratio.
- Tuition-assistance scholarships are available.
Accelerated M.S.N. Program
- Designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in another area of study
- A 21-month, five-semester direct-entry accelerated Master of Science in Nursing program
- In-person and hands-on
- Graduates are prepared to sit for the nursing licensure exam and certification as a clinical nurse leader (CNL).
- Provides a seamless transition for students interested in pursuing an NP after completing SLU’s A.S.M.N. program
- The first and only program of its kind in Missouri
- In 2022, SLU’s AMSN NCLEX pass rate was 100%.
