Res Philosophica is an international, quarterly journal of philosophy that publishes research in all areas of philosophy, historical and topical.
Founded as The Modern Schoolman by Jesuit Scholastics in 1925, the journal is edited by members of the Department of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. The journal is pluralistic and publishes philosophical research from a wide range of perspectives.
Submissions
Res Philosophica accepts submissions on both historical and topical issues in philosophy. All items should be submitted online through the journal’s website.
The journal does not normally accept full-length articles longer than 12,000 words or discussion articles longer than 4,000 words. Be sure to read the instructions on how to prepare the manuscript for review.
We value the time and effort that authors put into their submissions. We aim to make an initial decision on all unsolicited submissions within eight weeks. For a detailed description of the review process, visit resphilosophica.org.
Subscriptions
Res Philosophica is published four times a year in January, April, July and October. Subscriptions, single-issue sales, online access and permissions are managed on the journal's behalf by the Philosophy Documentation Center. To subscribe, visit pdcnet.org/resphilosophica.
