Saint Louis University Information Technology Services provides certain software online for faculty, staff and currently enrolled students at no cost or at a discount.
With a valid SLU Net ID and password, you have access to some software, free of charge.
Microsoft Office 365
SLU offers free Microsoft Office University 365 licenses to faculty, staff and students. The licenses are valid for the extent of your professional and/or academic career.
To obtain your free copy of Microsoft 365:
- Go to office.com.
- Click "Sign In" in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Type in your SLU email address, including the @slu.edu or @health.slu.edu portion.
- Click the "Organizational Account" option, if prompted.
- Type your SLU password.
- Scroll down and click "Install."
You will need to sign into your Office Subscription, once the software has installed.
- From the Welcome to Office dialog box, select "Sign Into an Existing Subscription."
- Enter your SLU email address and SLU password
- Click "Next"
- Click "Organizational Account"
- Click "Finish"

As a SLU faculty member, staff member or student, you are eligible to receive software and hardware discounts. These discounts vary based on special promotions from each company, and each vendor has specific ways to receive SLU's discount.
Software Discounts
This alternative stats program is available for university purposes on University-owned or personal machines. The University has purchased a set number of ATLAS.ti licenses that ITS is able to resell to faculty, staff and students for personal machines. These licenses are purchased on an annual basis.
Each computer will need its own yearly subscription:

The Process
- Payment of the $85 per license can be made in-person in the Academic Tech Commons in the Pius Library first floor, or online through the SLU Marketplace. Upon proper receipt, ITS will install or update the license for you.
- To obtain the full installer, you will need to bring either a flash drive 2GB or larger, your computer, or you will need purchase a flash drive from the center to obtain the software. The flash drive media kit costs starts at $10.
- To obtain just the license file to update an already installed software, you will need to bring either a small flash drive, your computer or elect to have the license file emailed to you.
