Visiting Medical Student Application Process
The Saint Louis University Plastic Surgery Division regularly has visiting medical students from both U.S. and international medical schools. All applications are processed through the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) website.
Residency Application Process
This program offers two first-year integrated positions annually. We are fully accredited by the ACGME. Starting in 2022, applications must be submitted through the Plastic Surgery Common Application (PSCA). Applicants will not be considered for an interview until all the required information has been received.
Please send questions regarding the residency application process to Residency Program Coordinator Cooper Minnis at cooper.minnis@slucare.ssmhealth.com.
Upcoming Institutional Changes
Effective in July 2023, our residencies and fellowships will be SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine programs, a change from the sponsorship that has been Saint Louis University School of Medicine. All program names will reflect this updated sponsorship title (e.g., SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine General Surgery Residency Program).
The 62 accredited residencies and fellowships will continue to operate as ACGME-accredited University programs at SSM Health and other clinic locations including the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Mercy Health system. Residents and fellows have integrated into the SSM Health system and will continue to perform their clinical duties under the direction of the same program directors, division chiefs, and departmental chairs. Graduates will receive a single certificate reflecting this partnership. Benefits and stipends for residents and fellows have been transitioned to the SSM Health system.
