About These Views
The southernmost part of Saint Louis University's campus is home to health sciences research and scholarship.
This live stream camera of Saint Louis University's campus moves between three views of just a few of the buildings making up this area of campus and the spaces around them:
- SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital: Opened in 2020, the $550 million, 800,000 square-foot hospital offers 316 private patient rooms, an expanded Level I trauma center and emergency department and a large intensive care unit. The hospital is home to much of SLU's medical training and is part of a relationship between SSM Health and the University that dates back more than a century.
- Doisy Research Center: Visible from almost any location on SLU's campus, the 10-story, 206,000-square-foot Edward A. Doisy Research Center, topped with a distinctive fleur-de-lis, has 80 labs dedicated to researching cancer, diseases and vaccine development.
- Schroeder Hall and patio: Located along Caroline Mall, Schroeder Hall is home to SLU's Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing. Inside, the building offers students hands-on learning experiences in replicas of hospital units, exam rooms and an apartment designed for home health care lessons. Control rooms behind one-way glass allow instructors to operate manikins that simulate symptoms, diseases and conditions found in real care settings.
